FAOM Membership Terms & Conditions
- Eligibility Criteria:Membership is open to individuals and organisations involved or interested in financial services and technology, subject to approval by the Association’s membership committee. The Association reserves the right to deny membership to any individual or entity that is blacklisted or under investigation by Bank Negara Malaysia, the Securities Commission of Malaysia, or any other government agency.
- Payment of Membership Fees:Members are required to pay the applicable membership fees on a timely basis. Failure to do so may result in suspension or termination of membership. The Association reserves the right to vary the membership fees or structure in accordance with the Constitution of the Association.
- Professional Conduct:All members are expected to maintain a high standard of professionalism, integrity, and respect toward other members and stakeholders. Members should contribute positively to the fintech community, avoid conflicts of interest, and refrain from any behaviour that could harm the reputation of the Association or its members.
- Confidentiality:Members are required to respect the confidentiality of any proprietary or sensitive information shared during Association activities, events, or communications.
- Use of Association Branding:Members may not use the Association’s name, logo, or branding for any promotional or commercial purposes without prior written consent from the Association.
- Data Protection and Privacy:The Association is committed to protecting the personal information of its members in accordance with applicable data protection laws. By applying for membership, members consent to the collection, storage, and processing of their personal data for Association-related activities, including communications, event invitations, and updates. Additionally, members consent to the sharing of their personal data with the Association's trusted partners and sponsors for purposes such as event sponsorship, networking opportunities, and relevant offers or communications.
- Non-Transferable Membership:Membership is non-transferable and may only be used by the individual or organisation that has applied and been approved.
- Membership Term: Membership terms follow the calendar year and end annually on 31 December.
- Automatic Membership Renewal:Unless terminated through an email notification to membership@fintechmalaysia.org by 31 December of the current year, the membership shall automatically renew in the following year. An invoice for the membership fee will be sent within 31 days of the new calendar year.
- Suspension or Termination of Membership:The Association reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership for any individual or organisation that fails to comply with the terms and conditions, is under investigation or blacklisted by government agencies, or engages in activities deemed harmful to the Association or its reputation.
- Refunds: Membership fees, once paid, shall not be refunded under any circumstances, including where membership is suspended or terminated for any reason prior to the expiry of the membership term.
- Amendments to Terms & Conditions:The Association reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Members will be notified of any changes, and continued membership constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
- General Terms: These Terms & Conditions and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, Malaysian law. If any provision is held to be invalid, the remaining Terms & Conditions shall remain in full force and effect. These Terms & Conditions constitute the entire agreement relating to their subject matter.
